Bienvenida (2026) began as a student project for the Film Florida TV competition, a challenge to write, shoot, and edit a 5-minute short film in the span of 10 days.
Following the registration, the production team Eighth House Productions received the prompt details on March 16th, 2026. The requirements were as follows:
“Film Requirements
Maximum runtime: Five (5) minutes, including credits
Films must incorporate the official Florida-inspired prompt, the required line of dialogue, and the prop (Film Florida Logo Sticker) provided by Film Florida
All dialogue must be in English or include English subtitles
Films must be original works created specifically for this Challenge
Films must be completed within the 10-day challenge window (March 6–16, 2026)
Entrants must hold all necessary rights to music, images, footage, and any other content used in the film
Here is your team’s official line of dialogue:
"I run on vibes and questionable decisions."
And your official prompt:
Friends compete to find the weirdest Florida souvenir. The competition escalates as they try to convince each other that their find is the ultimate Florida gift.
Your official prop is the Film Florida sticker.”
Before shooting, pre-production paperwork was created on March 6th. Casting was chosen through the production team itself.
Bienvenida was shot in one day in two locations: Bill Baggs State Park and Boater’s Grill.
Once the film was shot, post-production began. The entire editing process lasted four days, including color correction, sound design and animation.
The film was submitted on March 16th through Film Freeway.

We created this film as a playful, lighthearted interpretation of the Film Florida TV Challenge prompt, celebrating the flirtatious, vibrant culture of South Florida. Each character reflects a different facet of the region: Trumpet is bold and indulgent, drawn to the glamour of comfort; Bass is grounded, a wildlife lover and fisherman; and Flute is awkward yet romantic in his own quiet way.
Through Daniela’s eyes, we experience South Florida for the first time, she’s welcomed into a lively mix of personalities, each offering her a distinct taste of what Miami is.
And in the end, she leaves them! But that’s part of the rhythm here. The three amigos remain, just as Florida does, steady and full of character, even as visitors come and go.
